The SMGS AXIe-0  module is a 14-port unmanaged Ethernet switch. One of the ports of this switch is displayed on the front panel of the module and is used to interact via Ethernet with external equipment (PC, Ethernet local area network), the remaining 13 ports of the switch are used to interact with instrument modules of the AXIe-0 standard crate. This architecture of the module allows for the interaction of an external PC with any instrument module of the AXIe-0 standard crate.

SMGS AXIe-0, made in the AXIe standard, is designed to work as part of measuring systems created on the basis of the AXIe-0 trunk. SMGS AXIe-0 is intended for use as part of AXIe-0 standard chassis with the number of seats (slots) not more than 14.  AXIe-0 meets the requirements of the AXIe-0 standard for system modules of the AXIe-0 trunk.

The main difference between the SMGS AXIe-0 and the rest of the system module models made in the AXIe standard is the support for the synchronous operation of instrumental modules both inside the chassis in which it is installed and outside it.

Technical characteristics of the interface of interaction with the instrumental modules of the chassis
The maximum number of serviced tool modules is up to 13 Instrumentation interface - integrated ethernet switch ethernet 13 10/100/1000 Base-T ports
Trigger line interaction with instrument modules

Relay signals between any of the 12 trigger bus lines of the AXIe chassis and external connectors located on the front panel of the module.
The status of any of the 12 trigger bus lines of the AXIe chassis can be relayed to the module's “TTRG OUT” connector. The selection of the line for retranslation is carried out using a microswitch. The output signal level "TRG OUT" - TTL 5V. The type of connector is SMB.
To receive external signals and then relay them to the chassis AXIe tiger bus, the TRG IN connector is located on the front panel of the module. The selection of the trigger bus line of the AXIe chassis for retranslation is carried out using a microswitch. The input signal level "TRG IN" - TTL 5 V. Connector type - SMB
Instrument module clock

Formation of the CLK100 signal to the instrument modules in accordance with the AXIe standard from the internal reference source of the module frequency or from the external reference source of 10 MHz.
The choice of the source of signal formation CLK100 to the instrumental modules and to the connector “CLK OUT” of the module is carried out using a micro switch.
To connect an external reference frequency source, the CLK IN connector is located on the front panel of the module. Input signal parameters: frequency - 10 MHz, signal level - TTL 5 V. Type of connector - SMB.
To issue the reference frequency signals to other external devices, the CLK OUT connector is located on the front panel of the module. The source of the frequency of this signal can be either the internal generator of the module or the signal supplied to the “CLK IN” connector. Output signal parameters: frequency - 10 MHz, signal level - TTL 5 V. Connector type - SMB
